"Come Get It Bae" Revisited

by Mike Stanz posted Jul 28 2014 5:00AM
Last week, Pharrell’s new tune, "Come Get It Bae," made a splash and ended up at the top of a lot of music charts right after its release.

The biggest question: what does “bae” mean? The overwhelming sentiment was that it meant “baby.”

Now, another country is heard from – literally.

According to the Urban Dictionary, “bae” is also the Danish word for “poop.” And as the dictionary says, it’s “also used by people on the internet who think it means baby, sweetie” et cetera.

Oops!

Wonder if Pharrell will have to take the time to fix that one?

Other the other hand, it could be perfect for a Pampers commercial jingle.

International Bae
In New Zealand bae (spelt same) has been used as a slang word for friend/mate for more than 2 decades. Pharell came to perform at the Rythmn n Vines music Fest in Gisborne a few years ago maybe he heard it here?
