Q: In which state is it illegal to play dominoes on Sundays?
Director Peter Bogdanovich will begin a three night stay at the Castro Theater in San Francisco. It starts tonight with his introduction of his "The Last Picture Show", and "At Long Last Love". Cybill Shepherd, who starred in "The Last Picture Show", will join him for Q & A later tonight.
Bogdanovich directed one of my favorite comedies. 1972's "What's Up Doc?, shot here in San Francisco, still holds up.
Good news for people who recently purchased an HD-DVD player from Circuit City. Just because Blu-ray won the high definition DVD format war doesn't mean you're stuck with a door stop. Circuit City is extending their return policy for HD-DVD players from thirty to ninety days. It'll be good for store credit towards a Blu-ray model, or whatever. I'm guessing other retailers will follow.
I was watching a local newscast a few nights ago, and a story of how vandals are attacking buses along some of MUNI's Hunter's Point routes. They showed, in great detail, how vandals were able to shut off the power to the bus by simply pulling a switch on the outside of the bus. I remember thinking that broadcasting how this is done can't be a good idea. Well, MUNI has since pulled all those buses out of service to install locks on the switches.
Have a great weekend! And don't forget....clocks AHEAD an hour before you hit the sack Saturday night.
