As we mentioned this morning, Matter of Trust, a Bay Area non-profit is collecting hair - human or animal - to send to the Gulf to aid in the oil cleanup. Once they receive the clippings, they make mats out of them that are apparently super absorbent, and can soak up the muck pretty quickly. If you're a salon, and would like to help, "head" over here.
